Mild medical stuff

Does anyone have experience of taking Metformin?

I had my diabetes clinic today - doing well generally, good blood sugar control and no black marks on any of the other things except being too heavy. (Sigh) The doctor suggested, however, that I might start taking Metformin, which reduces insulin resistance. As I have polycystic ovaries as well as Type 2 diabetes, it looks like a good bet. But I wondered if any of you have any experience of this and could tell me how it has worked for you?

Just make sure there's no way you can get pregnant---a friend of mine had a surprise baby at 46 thanks to Metformin.

My dad's been on it for a while. I can ask him about it if you like?
