I hope it wasn't too painful flying home - I know how nasty it can be, being on a plane when you have a cold.

And yes, I too wish I'd had more time to talk to people, I'm sure there were people in the cottage whom I didn't really talk to, but I suppose that's just how things ebb and flow.
