Sadly the rock shop is no longer there, although there seems to be a rock stall at the market on Saturdays. It was a very handy shop, as my brother-in-law is partial to a nice piece of quartz (etc) and it has become my Christmas tradition to send him some kind of rock for his present. His birthday is on Christmas Eve, so he also gets something unexpected to open. This year, the rock was labradorite, which is really pretty.
I'm rather fond of my angel/devil story. It's one in a long line of MTYG stories which was initially inspired at one of nopseud's sparkly weekends, the early November one at which we get together and whine about our assignments and try to think what to write. As I recall, I loved the pairings—my favourite, plus one I hadn't written before—and was depressed by the HS AU prompt. But it worked out well.
I should have mentioned the MTYG sparkly weekends in the post.
