Oh this is so cool! Although we're in different fandoms we have so many shared experiences here! Sneaking into Smiths and Waterstones, lol! I did the same with Stargate Magazine; conventions and meeting up with like minded people, dial up modems and zines and chatting to conventions guests in the bar. Even the wedding, at a Stargate Convention in London!! Stargate took me to my first convention in Canada and then the US! Seriously, your first paragraph could easily have been my fandom letter and it really did bring those memories back!
