I associate a 'settee' with a slightly more formal three piece suite, such as my grandma had. Details a bit fancier than a 'couch', eg little wing tips on the edges of the back, something or other on the arms. I totally appreciate that your couch is coloured and sofa is squishy, as to me, a sofa is somehow a little bit squishier than a couch. Thanks!
