I loved the first series of Rome, but I somehow didn't enjoy the second quite as much. It's still really, really good, but the loss of Ciaran Hinds as Caesar leaves a gap in the characters and it never seems to get back the momentum and sense of a central focus he brings to it. In a way that's part of the story, but it's still unfortunate.
Pullo and Vorenus continue to be awesome, however. :-)
