Is there anyone out there who reads my LJ and is of an age to be bothered by the *incredibly stupid* new cut tags? (I just logged out to see what it looks like. Dear me, way to get rid of any *actual* warnings on the contents. Sigh.)

If there is, please let me know.

I'm always logged in and well over the age that matters, so I haven't seen any effects of the new system--which is just the way I like it.

I figure that's probably true for anyone who reads this LJ, in which case I shall leave it as it is. I certainly haven't seen the evidence of changes unless I've make a point of looking for them, so I propose to set my LJ to 'adult concepts' and thereafter, ignore it all.

It is annoying. I don't see how my own warnings are any less efficient than the LJ-generated ones. I don't think I'm going to use them, in the end. I thought about going back and flagging all my adult fic, but since underagers can look at it anyway by not logging in and claiming to be of age or lying in the first place, I think my warning system is better than LJ's. If I get flagged or my account gets suspended... *shrug* I have more :P

I think specific warnings (eg LavaLamp abuse!) are much more reasonable than this generic, stupid one which overrides all our carefully used cut tags. However, if nobody on my flist is of an age to be bothered by any of this nonsense, I'll just flag the whole thing as 'adult concepts'. Though actually, I'd rather have a "user has chosen not to categorise this journal" option, because it is all so daft.

It's pretty dumb. I also don't think most of my content is adult-only. And considering that the flagging doesn't actually, in reality, DO anything, I prefer to keep my own warnings. Although yeah, I have the feeling it's not going to matter regardless. Nothing I write is particularly over-the-top kinky or whatever. I'm not encouraging illegal behavior or writing/drawing chan. So I'm probably okay :P

I think we're pretty much okay in our little corner here. Not that I tend to warn for actual smut, of course. Sigh.

I was surfing LJ today at work, not logged in, and noticed those. They're a bit stupid, especially because they rob you of the actual *descriptive* cut-tags. But I don't really care since I'm usually logged in anyway.

Me, too. It actually requires me to be doing something *odd* to see the mess-up, so I'm inclined to ignore it...

Wow, I just logged out to see what it looks like and god, that's annoying. It would be better if you could put some kind of description in and THEN have the "you are about to view BAD STUFF!" cut.

Yep. It's a deeply stupid implementation of a rather silly system, IMO. Oh well.

if youre not logged in it says something about verifying that youre over the age of 14 and "you are about to view..." ooookay...

It's very weird, isn't it! Most intrusive and not at all conducive to reading pleasure, but I suppose that is the point. However, when logged on, the silly messages don't seem to be a problem at all.
