Christmas is coming, the brats are home at last
I spent much of Saturday at a motorway services station on the M11. We set out to retrieve the brats from Norwich but I felt queasy in the car. Sitting reading the paper and drinking peppermint tea turned out to be helpful. Beast, with two brats, overnight guest and snake, retrieved me before it got dark. Very efficient.
Bun and our guest (one of her house-mates) both being ballroom dancers, we watched Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday night. I managed to tamp down the usual urges to kill Bruce Forsyth, and enjoyed the dancing. Am in consequence listening to Bun's Lily Allen album on iTunes. 'Not Fair' is hilarious. Then the five of us played the Lord of the Rings game, and trounced Sauron without difficulty. The snake spent the evening coiled around Bun's middle, to their mutual satisfaction I am sure.
Bun and I spent quite a lot of Sunday evening watching the best bits of American Idol season 8. (That translates as, maybe five minutes per episode for most of the shows.) Plus Idolatry. She's now getting to love Adam's CD.
My Boy, who managed to leave his coat, his dressing gown, and his pills in Norwich, has today received a lesson in what it might, perhaps, be like if this country didn't have an NHS. He had an appointment with his (private) doctor today, and asked for prescriptions; the local pharmacist is quite willing to find him these three items. It's going to cost him £150.
I think he may not forget his pills again.
Thank you

turloughishere and
