Writing Meme
I have an intimidating pile of things I ought to be doing, so I am procrastinating.
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
Much less than I would have predicted. Sigh. The only long (ie over 10,000 words) story I posted in this time frame was last year's MTYG story.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2009?
Post-apocalyptic vampire fic with (a modicum of) romance. It was my MTYG recipient's request last year, and filled me with terror, as I'm more of a "don't do post-apocalyptic, don't do vampires, don't see how they go with romance" kind of writer. However, I'm very pleased with the story that resulted.
I also wrote a Kradam story, which I wasn't actually expecting to do. But hey, there was a challenge. (Thinks: it isn't actually posted yet, perhaps it shouldn't count until next year.) Oh yes, and a Stargate Atlantis threesome.
What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
I think it might just be The First Step, which came to me in a moment and was one of those delightful stories that 'writes itself'. Also, I love the idea… if I ever showed Lance Bass anything I'd written, it'd probably be this one.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?

Story Most Underappreciated by the Universe
My Dragon Challenge stories! Twice around the prompts, and very few people have read them. :-p Actually, I was really disappointed on behalf of the other dragon challenge writers, too. So little feedback. Dammit, guys!
Most fun
Can't see the wood for the 42Ds, in which Adam Lambert turns into a woman, and Lance is very much discomposed. It's the pop music reality distortion field, you see.
Most disappointing
I wasn't really very happy with my remix this year. I think possibly the fact that I started off with a remix (of a different story) in blank verse meant that whatever I actually ended up writing wasn't going to live up to that beginning… It sorta felt as though I'd given up on finding a really interesting approach.
Most sexy
Oddly, probably Can't see the wood for the 42Ds. Het, too! Although the Steel Dragon and Aces High dragon challenge ficlets were quite naughty.
Story With a Single Sexy Moment
Um. Don't think anything qualifies here.
Hardest to Write
Can't decide whether it was my remix or the dragon challenge. The dragon challenge set only happened because it's my challenge and there was a deadline and I really couldn't allow myself to miss it. Just goes to show, though, that you can write a couple of thousand words in a remarkably short time if you have the right incentive, cos I got the idea for the Howie/Kevin at about 3pm on the day before D-Day, and by 8pm I'd written it *and* watched Doctor Who. This is, unfortunately, not encouraging me to reform my procrastinating ways.
But nothing was hard to write in terms of being a challenging type of story, I don't think.
"Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story:
Two Adam/Shakespeare sonnets! Though nobody seems to mind about one of them being dead for four hundred years.
Most Unintentionally Telling
I dunno. Do I even do that?
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
Chronicles! Wallow! Adam/Lance/? threesome!
Basically, write moar. God, I really don't have the attention span for a novel.
