Snowflake Challenge, Day 2

Day 2 - In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you didn't create.

Part one: Popslash

We're still in the Make The Yuletide Gay season (author reveals in a few days—get your feedback in fast!), so I'm going back to MTYGs past to re-rec a story written for me in 2008, Prove Them Wrong, by chalcopyrite. There's an Nsync reunion in progress, not without its difficulties, and Lance finds someone—also not without difficulties. Lance/Nick, yummy.

and you'll notice my smile (is like kool aid) by no pseud attached, in which Lance discovers the power of his smile to get him what he wants, even if he sometimes directs it at the wrong people. Perfect hair, he felt sure, had some mysterious synergistic effect with his smile, and would probably allow him to pick up astronauts, or at least fighter pilots, just as soon as he could find any. Chris, however, seems determined to spoil Lance's fun. Chris/Lance (eventually)

Buying a Clue by Lennie, in which Lance is the Arch-Villain General Crumpet, Justin is his deadly, treacherous and incredibly vain trophy-mistress Sweetpea the Terrible, Chris is a Leprechaun, Joey is a rather lazy superhero, and JC is the bard who recounts their tale. I haven't read this in far too long! Lance/Justin, very funny indeed.

Part 2: not popslash

I'm going to stop with the popslash or I'll be going for ever. Here are a handful from other fandoms that I've enjoyed.

Diary of a Brave Adventurer Survivor of the Zombie Apocalypse. This is the Top Gear Zombie Apocalypse Special. Seriously. Well, perhaps not that seriously. But think about it. Clarkson vs zombies… How. Much. Fun. would he have with that?

The "A Deeper Season" series by lightgetsin, which for my money is 'alternative canon' for the Miles Vorkosigan books. Absolutely wonderful series, splendidly long. I've linked to the first story of the series on AO3, although 'A Deeper Season' itself is a little further on. It's Miles/Gregor, and it makes perfect sense.

Candles and Pretense by winterlive, featuring Adam Lambert, Brad Bell, and Adam Lambert. Very smart on the characterisation, and scorchingly hot sex.

Any Note You Can Reach by reni_days is a delightful bit of bandom fluff in which Gerard Way decides to cover a Panic! at the Disco song, and Panic reciprocates, and… well, it's so much fun it even had me looking up YouTube video of the songs in question so I knew what they were talking about.

Planet Sherlock by pir8fancier, in which Sherlock sabotages all John's relationships, and they devise an… interesting rating system for sexual encounters. It involves severed fingers.

I haven't read Buying a Clue for a really long time either. I must change that soon.

I reread the smile like kool-aid fic yesterday to help me get my Trickyfish on. :D

Love it. Marvelous Trickyfish even though the Tricky sort of sneaks up on you (as the Tricky is wont to do).

If sabotaging your bandmate's efforts to get laid by hiding all his shoes so he can't go out isn't demonstrating your true love, then I don't know what is :-)

And of all the Trickyfish in all the world, you recced mine! I am truly honoured.

Heeee thank you so much for the TG Zombie fic rec. All I've done in the past three weeks is watch 16 seasons of Top Gear (not bothering with the first season, obvs, because no James May) and yes. Haa.
