February Festival: Day four, A great short fic

The challenge is to find something that doesn't need more than 500 words to be perfect. Quite a difficult challenge, as it's very much harder to keep track of really short fics than long ones... and under 500 words turns out to be very short indeed.

However, I've found a couple of rather excellent contenders from the sky_pie Just for Fun challenge to write breakup drabbles. There were a lot of entries worth reading.

As for my own, I was surprised to find most of my shortest stories still managed to come in at more than 500, so how about Fourteen lines extolling the pure and perfect love between man and lava lamp.



In other news, surely Adam Lambert's new video will inspire a *lot* of fanfic. Or was it inspired *by* fanfic?

OMG that video broke me into little zebra-striped pieces, then carefully put me back together again.

I have to admit, the ENTIRE time I was watching it, fanfic was on my mind, if only to put Adam in that sweater, drinking tea.

I was so relieved that there's a nice big dollop of Glambert in the video, and it's revising upwards my estimate of the song (which so far only gets an 'eh' from me).

And you probably need to read candles and pretense now, although don't expect to be doing anything else for the rest of the day. Heh.

Aw, see, I like that there's something NOT Glambert, because it sets the Glambert up so much better, plus it makes Adam more REAL to me.

But, okay, I trust everything you tell me when it comes to fanfic, and you're RIGHT (as usual), because I decided, oh, I'll just take a peek, and got halfway through part one and my brain started to break. Actually, what popped into my head was one of my fave lines of all time, from YOUR story: "Fuck me rigid." (I so love Chris).

So, since I have CHORES and THINGS to do, and I promised Josh he could play on the laptop, I regretfully shut that story down for later.

You DO know I'm your loyal minion, right? I'm under your power. :) And I'm completely cursing you, because since this rec thing started I've gotten negative things done around the house. *glare*
