Benedict Cumberbatch photographed while wearing a poppy. Comments (on TLo) asking why he's sporting a flower. Seriously? Seriously?

A robot penguin for science!

Sprinkles the Cat Wrestling Singlet. Also comes in Pug. In my nightmares, I am wearing one of these to Zumba.

'The Corps is Mother, the Corps is Father'. We're watching our way through Babylon 5 again, and I would swear I had never seen this episode before. How delightful!



Things I was not surprised by today:

Richard Dawkins being a douche on Twitter. Oh NO. Just checked my privilege. Turns out I'm a white heterosexual male. ‪http://www.campusreform.org/?ID=6041 ‬How can I atone? Hair shirt? Flagellation?

Whatever turns you on, Dick. My recommendation: Tweet less.

I have a pretty tiny font on my desktop and it took me three reads through before I realised that didn't actually say 'puppy'.


Dawkins has always been a douche. The advance of technology has just given him new formats to express it.

I'm not sure what TLo is, but I can say if Americans were reading whatever it is, many of them probably don't know what the poppy means on November 11.

I only know because I'm a complete geek who reads a lot of historical fiction...

I suppose it surprised me that someone would be so unaware of poppies, given that they show up on British (and probably Commonwealth) celebrities <em>every year</em>, and this year we even have a deservedly famous art installation all about them.
