Reference for writers

If you haven't already joined [livejournal.com profile] riters_r_us you won't be aware of this post, in which there is a list of homonyms with their proper distinctions. So if you think discrete and discreet mean the same thing, or have ever wondered whether something has peaked, peeked or piqued somebody's interest(*), check it out. And if you are already perfect and know all these things, you can probably think of some other folks who might benefit...

*snerk* As an electrical engineer who does software tech writing for a living, my fingers REFUSE to type discreet. I have to stop and consciously think to make them let go of the -ete. [livejournal.com profile] without_me saves me every time.
