Sable seems to have found her purr!

To backtrack a bit: instead of giving her breakfast this morning, we put her into the cage and took her to the vet, where she was made to sleep, and woke up with a sore mouth and a bandaged leg, having had her teeth cleaned and one tooth extracted. They phoned early in the afternoon to say that she was out of surgery and sitting up in bed with a cup of tea in recovery, but moping and declining to eat anything.

Anyway, she was Very, Very Happy to be home again. She went round inspecting everything and rubbing against all the usual corners before hopping out for a quick pee and then devouring some special mousse (for cats who have had a tooth removed). As we sat on the sofa to eat our supper, she sat between us, requested all the skritches, and purred louder than I have ever heard her purr. Usually it is the world's quietest purr and barely audible.

What she doesn't know is, she has to go and see the nurse for a quick inspection on Saturday.

Aww, poor Sable! But I'm glad she's found her purr. I hope things go well for her on Saturday.

She isn't much enjoying the Special Fudz, it seems. Awkward, since we have to dose it with antibiotic at lunchtime.... Possibly her toothspace is hurting. I'm hoping for a good recovery, anyway.

It's very gratifying! Though I'm not sure whether she is pleased to be with us, or just pleased to be back in Her Own Home. Still, I'll take it.

She did not enjoy it much, but emerged with some more pills (ah, joy, more pills for the cat) and was willing to snuggle very close in the evening. She has refused the very expensive Special Fudz and gone back to her Whiskas.

Poor little Sable! Lancecat had to do mouth surgery a few times and he was always so SAD afterwards. But also very happy to be home again, just like Sable.

So cool that her purr has suddenly became audible. She clearly approved of your scritches!

I hope the inspection today went well!

I mean, if I were put in a cage, abandoned in a strange place by my human(s), poked and prodded, and sent to sleep, and woke up with a sore mouth, I would be pretty frightened, too, so I can't blame her. It is very gratifying when she is carried out of the car and recognises that she is Home!
