I just read a listing for some kind of comedy production which had the following warning:

Not suitable for under 13s. Candles may be used.

Hmm.

Not suitable for children under 13.

Which I always interpret to mean:

But by all means bring your teenaged cattle!

I particularly liked the 'may' in 'candles may be used'. Like they aren't sure yet whether there will be a call for them or not, they just want to keep the option open.

Maybe it's a marketing ploy. They're starting out small this time, but next time it'll be 'elephants may be used', and then when the place it packed, they'll announce, "Oh, sorry, no, we decided in the end we didn't need them."
