The incessant parade of intrusive ads has finally forced me off Safari, so I'm re-logging-in on Firefox and hoping for a less irritating web experience. There are bound to be hiccups.

Found via Jim Hines: snuggling puppies. I particularly adore the *four* tesselated ones.

And via that site, giant dogs with their owners, although I swear that first one is a person in a hairy suit. Awesome.

Let's see if the cross post still works.

There's an AdBlock plugin for Safari too.

Cuddling puppies!!

Personally I hate ads but I can definitely understand that even if you're moderately tolerant about them having them completely hijacking your computer like that must be maddening.

Puppies (and kittens!) solve all problems :-)

Stupid intrusive ads! I hater it when they don't just sit off to the side.

Wow, those dogs are huge!

I have one of those giant breeds -- a Newfoundland. I've had Newfies for years and years now, and they're absolutely amazing to live with, and a tourist attraction whenever we go out anywhere. The neighborhood kids stop by - "Can Connor come out to play?") and when I'm sitting in a parking lot with him people have actually stopped to take his picture. When we sit next to each other he's taller than I am, so the last time I went car shopping I took along my tape measure so I could make sure he'd be able to sit up in the back. I think the salespeople thought I was nuts, but he requires a lot of room. (I ended up with a Chrysler PT Cruiser -- I took out the back 2 seats, so the entire back section of the vehicle's cargo space can be used by him, and it's tall enough for him to stand in and to sit in.) Giant dogs are awesome.
