Oh, well done, LJ, well done.

The newest [livejournal.com profile] news post starts with: "You don't like how everything just suddenly changed with no warning or initial announcement."

No shit.

It doesn't affect my use of the site very much, since I mostly post here on DW and crossposting seems to work very well. But could they not have learned by now that such autocratic behaviour does not go over well? Seriously?

It's not like its been a decade of people complaining about the same thing or anything. Sigh.

Although since I had "show in style mine" checked, I didn't notice a thing.

I've stopped reading LJ News but I got a mail from them with the same content. I'm very glad I hardly ever have to visit LJ these days :-)

I don't mind the new layout as such - it's functional and I don't spend all that much time on LJ itself - but I have to say I was quite surprised!

The change was really sudden, though like most of the above it hasn't affected my own layout.

I have to hold onto hope that they admit they've a bad track record with sudden changes and are trying to change that. Goodness knows if they actually will, but at least they're admitting it.

I know - that really is a "stating the blindingly obvious" opener, isn't it?

It would have been nicer if they ask what users would like to see and work on that. It seems like they spent a lot of time and effort guessing as to what people would like and *surprising* us with it. Then asking what we thought after the fact.

I hope they continued to allow people to use the old friends page version. I tried the new version out months ago and remember not liking it much, so I immediately switched it back.

I have a lot of trouble finding things in the new version. Things that used to be one click are now 2 or 3 clicks. That is bit aggravating! How did they think that was better?
