The newest news post starts with: "You don't like how everything just suddenly changed with no warning or initial announcement."

No shit.

It doesn't affect my use of the site very much, since I mostly post here on DW and crossposting seems to work very well. But could they not have learned by now that such autocratic behaviour does not go over well? Seriously?

Right now as I type this comment I have a *stack* of buttons above the comment window. I can (apparently) easily comment on posts under my Facebook account, my Twitter account, my Google account, my Mail.ru account, my VKontakte account (none of which I have) or with OpenID. Which is all well and good, but I am logged in to my LJ account. Gah.

I don't use the new Friends page, though it keeps reminding me that I could. Doesn't strike me as worth the pain.
