GIP, really. He's so cute! I found a couple of fabulous photos of Aldis Hodge on the Tom & Lorenzo site and made a scant handful of icons. I'm keeping two, but if anyone would like either of these, be my guest.

Progress is slow - when you have to spend about an hour on the phone to get the company to send you a form, it does feel a bit like wading through treacle. But BIL has now been through the house to see if there are any personal items he wants to keep, and the chaps are working on their executor duties as best they can.

I, meanwhile, have started to remove the two soil beds on the small patio outside our back door, which are enclosed by a lean-to greenhouse (which sits under the veranda roof, and oh god I could rant about it for hours, I'll stop here). Only two wheelbarrowfuls so far, because the exit to the greenhouse has a seven-inch-high 'lip' for some reason, so I have to summon Beast to help me lift the wheelbarrow out.... But I think it's nearly time to put some of the seedlings out, so getting the soil into the actual garden seems like a good plan.

I have a massive and very painful mouth ulcer. Drinking tea or coffee is not currently worth it. Sigh.

There's a very pretty park in the middle of Launceston which contains (among other things) a hothouse *full* of orchids. I was enraptured, and took many photos. I'm not a photographer, I just point and click, but I wanted to do something with the pictures, so I've made icons. Help yourselves to any you fancy.

Our noble deeds have been rewarded, with cake!

Over the Christmas period we kept getting redirected post which was not for us, and duly rewrote the address and posted it again. The happy recipients called round this afternoon and gave us a rather good chocolate cake as a thank-you.

A tragic wine-related accident earlier on... well, not that tragic, thanks to my Beast's perennial calm and my hoarding habit. I opened a new box of wine, added some to the stew in progress, and shrieked with dismay when I discovered a red lake on the worktop. Yes, the bag was leaking. Fortunately I had a three-litre bottle and a two-litre bottle in my stash "for painting", so we decanted madly as the bag dripped into the sink. Dear me, we shall have to drink it all before it goes off. Quel tragedy.

Joy of joys, I woke up with labyrinthitis on Thursday, and having the room *hurtle* round me while I was lying down in bed was very scary not at all nice. It's much improved now, thank goodness.

Why has nobody directed me to THIS TOTALLY AWESOME VID??? Sorry, getting a bit carried away with the capslock, but really. She got me. Really.
