01 14th October 1066 - Ha! 1066 And All That tells me that the actual date is not memorable :-) Wiliam the Conqueror invades England.

02 15th June 1215 - Date of the signing of Magna Carta?

03 23rd April 1564 - Henry VIII breaks with the Pope?

04 5th November 1605 - Death of Elizabeth I?

05 30th January 1649 - Cromwell, the establishment of the Commonwealth perhaps?

06 2nd September 1666 - The Great Fire of London I'm almost sure

07 18 June 1815 - Coronation of Queen Victoria perhaps?

08 11 December 1936 - The abdication of Edward I-have-forgotten-his-number!

09 15 February 1971 - A complete guess: Black Tuesday in Ulster?

10 15 June 1996 - Another complete guess: Margaret Thatcher steps down?
