pensnest: bright-eyed baby me (Hand: caress)

[livejournal.com profile] llumi asked about these.

My default icon is Me, of course, and wasn't I the cutest thing? It's actually a b/w photo that Beast has on his bedside table, along with one of BabyMe eating my Dad's tie (I had a Pretty Blanket when I was a baby, and though it was incinerated—curse you, [livejournal.com profile] debsfarm!—long ago, I *still* like to rub silky things on my lips). I originally used a b/w version, but when [livejournal.com profile] turloughishere made me a beautiful layout with Lance in orange, and a background of peaches, I changed it to sepia so that it would tone better. Which works with this layout too.

One of the earliest icons I made, it just amused me at the time. Lots of pink, and JC's pose suggested the phrase... I don't use it very often, mostly because I've become a bit of an icon snob and like to use ones with a bit more technical skill in them.

Ah, my Chronicles icon. I really must post more of the Chronicles of Lancyn and Ser Chrisfer. I made this because it seemed like a good idea to have an icon to use specifically when I posted pieces of that story—as by then it had become clear that there was going to be quite a bit of it. It's a composite of a Chris pic and a Lance pic+Legolas hair, and a Celtic knotwork frame that I drew (by hand, yes) a long while ago, to frame a poem I'd done for a zine. Not entirely satisfied with the way it looks, but I would be better employed writing more of the story than trying to improve the icon.

My Lambs Shattered icon - you'll probably recognise the series of four slightly different pics in a picture booth (or at least, pic booth style). I think possibly this was made for an icon challenge contest, many of my icons were... I liked the idea of a broken mirror and I used bits of the different pics to put it together. Quite fond of it, but usually I use my other Lambs icon these days, it's prettier.

Ah, Sir Ian! This is Ian McKellan in his pantomime dame outfit, one of them, at any rate, a picture snagged from his website. I wanted something to use when I posted my Lance/Ian pantomime story. For Americans who are bewildered by the thought of Sir Ian in some sort of silent entertainment, I can only say that panto is Really Quite Different in the UK. The icon comes out occasionally because it's bright, cheerful and absurd.

THis is one of a set of Mucha icons I made a while back. I love the way the colouring turned out. I subscribe to Photoshop Creative magazine (actually no, I get it subscribed for me as a birthday present), and there is Stuff on the cover disk every month. There was a set of very beautiful Mucha brushes, and I very much enjoyed using them to make icons.

My "WTF" icon, made by [livejournal.com profile] ruthenia_alba and found on one of the general icon comms. I wanted one for my crackfic, when I signed up for the [livejournal.com profile] wtf27 challenge—which I have also been neglecting quite shamefully of late. It says 'wtf' to me, although probably not that clearly to other people.

I can't keep track of whether I've asked anyone else to pick icons for me to explain - if you want to know about any of mine, and you don't have to choose seven, ask in comments.
