Waffle, and When Someone Needs You
Feb. 25th, 2006 08:07 amMy sister has been staying here for a couple of days, as she had a training session in Stanstead yesterday. We had a chance to chat on Thursday when she got here - I was industriously painting my commissioned window (this went very nicely until the large area of purple paint began to thin in random spots - my attempt to disguise the situation by making it look purposefully textured did not help, so I'm going to have to strip that colour off) and we had a nice natter about brats and Sudoku.
She came to the Orpheus rehearsal with me. I'd expected she'd get to see a couple of acts (she won't be travelling up from Devon to see the show, so it would have been nice for her), but instead we spent the first ninety minutes on the walk-down, then did the finales of acts one, three and then two. No wonder she found it all rather confusing. It's just under a fortnight until we open, and frankly, I think we're over-rehearsed and could do with a night off.
Last night, we had a Quiz down at the playhouse. Quizzes are fun, even though I was on a team which knew we would have no chance of winning. This was certainly true - our average score per round: 4/10. Though we scored a magnificent 10/10 on our Joker round, which we correctly guessed was history. But overall, too much 'pop culture' for us! Never mind, 'twas fun. Only down side was that sister got home from her conference at 7.20pm, just as we were leaving the house.
She was up at 7 this morning (eek) so I staggered out of bed and prised my eyelids open to see her while she had breakfast. And she's gone, so I am posting.
