Dec. 27th, 2013 10:44 pmI have been reading the MTYG stories as slowly as I can bear to, and am within five or six of being all the way through, which fills me with woe. It is a jolly good crop, I think—small but of high quality—only I don't want there to be no more fresh stories to read. I hope you are all checking through them all and sending feedback!

Meanwhile, my daughter is encouraging me in mendacity. And also logic. She has had us playing one game in which nobody knows what is in their own hand, only what is in everyone else's, and she has had us playing Maskerade, in which nobody knows what's in *anybody*'s hand, half the time... surprisingly fun.
She's also suggested a new game for the next Camp, which sounds like a winner. Should I bring Dixit (or the pop equivalent) too?
Bun and I went off to do some shopping this morning, only to find that her car filled with smoke. It was a bit exciting. We think it's not too big a deal, in fact, and have purchased a suitable part to repair it with. After a return home and re-attempt to shop, we found no suitable shoes for her, although I discovered that I needed a pair of elegant dark red heels (at £28, it seemed a reasonable discovery to make), and that I did not need a fabulous coat in random squares of blue, even though it fitted me if I wore virtually nothing underneath. This is not a useful attribute in a coat. But it was very splendid.
And we have not much in common when it comes to paintings, even though we agree that not-quite-abstract landscapes are good. It is bewildering. She is, I suppose, more of a blue-and-green person, and I am more of a red-and-brown person. See my Art post from the meme.
Among the conversations we have had this season was quite a long one on the Brats being executors to our will, and probably also their uncle's will, and what to do when we are dead. Cheerier than it sounds.
