Snowflake Challenge 2018, Day 3
Jan. 3rd, 2018 05:41 pmDay 3
In your own space, post recs for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
Right! (I love this part.)
First one is a brand new story, author is still anonymous, and wrote it for ME, even, but that's not why I'm reccing it. Pulp Friction is, oh, it is awesome. It has one character writing stories and showing them to the other, and the writing is, uh, bad, only the next part is the sex scene which is, um, not bad, and then, well. It's a popslash story from the 2017 MTYG SeSa challenge, but frankly, if you enjoy slash with a sorta meta feel, you don't need to know the fandom. It *will* make you giggle.
Second one. This one is from Yuletide 2014, and it's a perfectly done version of Lord Peter Wimsey and his Harriet, in a world where the name of one's soulmate appears on one's arm when one reaches the age of twenty-one. It is remarkable how they, and the Dowager Duchess, and Lady Mary, are so exactly in character when something so fundamental has changed, but it is so. Beautifully done. Gentle Antidote
Third one: going dismayingly further back for this one—I must be getting old, indeed, when the years have passed so fast without my noticing. Physics Makes Us All Its Bitches, a delightful bodyswap story of Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and Brad Bell. It's just my kind of story—crack (an impossible premise) happens, and then gets followed through seriously. And it's really well done.
