We sang in the cathedral today, and you'd think that something purporting to be a Big Deal, ie Norfolk Day, would be accompanied by a bit of publicity for events such as a rolling concert in the cathedral. You'd think. But then, there wasn't a lot of organisation involved… There was no official welcome to any of the participating groups, which I thought odd; a microphone arrived about ten minutes into the FCC performance, and one of the other groups was warming up just outside where the performances took place—because only our group had asked for a room where we might rehearse.
Not impressed.
On the other hand, we got to sing in a very, very beautiful cathedral. The echoes were amazing—which, of course, meant that a lot of our singing came across as rather muddy; but when we paused after a chord, there was this awesome sound in the air. I was our announcer, and there was a pretty good echo when I spoke, too!

It reached 34 degrees C this afternoon. Mercifully, it began to rain just as we were driving home. There was quite a lot of lightning, and some thunder, but not as much rain as I'd hoped.
