I read this on GoCheeksGo's Twitter, and have been giggling on and off ever since:
It's one thing to be called ma'am on the phone...but when I'm standing in front of you with a full beard, it's a bit odd.
I need a Cheeks icon, I really do.
I posted a new challenge to
severalplums. No entries so far, but I hope there are a few people still interested.
Then, I went into London to meet
musicdiamond, who's over here on vacation for a week. We had lunch together at the V&A and then hurtled round quite a lot of the museum, although probably not all of it. The place is a maze, like a bloated and over-ornate version of Little Brampton Cottage with enormous amounts of Stuff all over the place. I didn't take as many pics as I expected, though I should go back and have another look at the glass exhibits, I think. Did lust quite a lot over the galleries of bling. Very sparkly.
We went to the South Bank towards the end of the afternoon, where the crowding was *serious*. I suppose there are always market stalls there nowadays? Anyway, in the way of fans meeting, we nattered pretty much non-stop and without a care for the sensibilities of the normal people within hearing range, so by the time I had to abandon her and head for The Archduke to meet and eat before going to the theatre, I was practically hoarse.
Went to see "Welcome to Thebes" at the National. I had no idea what to expect. It was... wow. A lot. So much to take in, really, that I suspect I'm going to find echoes of it for a long time. Very powerful stuff. Found this brief interview with the female lead, who was wonderful.
