Date: 2013-08-22 09:21 am (UTC)I recently found a piece Sayers wrote about the writing of Gaudy Night in which she complains about Peter fans not liking Harriet and Harriet fans not liking Peter. Then there are other people complaining that seeing Peter on stage in Busman's Honeymoon has ruined their mental image of him and she basically thinks they should get over themselves.
However, as she wrote a radio play in which a Peter Wimsey as a boy visits Sherlock Holmes to ask about a missing kitten as well as Holmes meta I don't think she's really got a leg to stand on when it comes to fans doing their fannish thing.
