I spose I have, in the past, done my Christmas shopping quite early, so in that respect it can be nice to have Stuff in the shops in September. But not with the decorations and the "music".

I suspect the sentimentality of many of these songs does not improve with repetition!

Well, I like the crooners and their predecessors in the ordinary way, I just want them to be singing *good* songs, not pouring all that soulfulness into second-rate kitsch.
