topaz119: 8-bit depiction of Lady Catherine DeBourgh frowning with the words "I am most seriously displeased." (Lady Catherine)

Yes, and I love that Lizzie is smart enough to understand why it's a Big Thing that his housekeeper speaks so highly of him. I'm sure Caroline Bingley wouldn't have noticed a thing (well, if she even spoke to the housekeeper.) Plus, then he invites Lizzie's uncle to fish on the estate -- even if he's just doing it to impress Lizzie, it's such a thaw of his character to admit he has to do something to impress her, even before you get to the part where her aunt and uncle are even lower on the social ladder than she is. It's a little thing, certainly not in the same league as fixing things with Wickham and Lydia, but it's a nice touch.

I think I scared the boys with my love for Austen when they read her in school and I could quote scenes at them, but it's good for them to know I don't only obsess about fannish things, right?

Also, I have to use my Lady Catherine icon, just because -- not a comment on your post!
