It's a very difficult tradition to keep up, because work. We do it at Camp Sparkle because we're on holiday, and my knit and natter group does afternoon tea because we're retired (or otherwise loafing). I don't know if people, generally, do Afternoon Tea, but on the other hand, there do seem to be quite a lot of places that provide it, so maybe there's a market? And there is no reason why people couldn't do it at home at the weekend, *if* they have the time. Trouble is, it seems to fit best on a Sunday afternoon, and if you're being traditional, you've just had a Sunday roast...
