This is where my cats spend their down time.

They get pretty comfortable up there.

Although they have lately taken to more obviously comfortable locations, like the sofa.

We took the cats to the vet today.
Not that there is anything wrong with either of them, it's just that they need their doses of worm and flea prevention next week, and the good medicines are only available on prescription. The vet nurse needed to weigh them etc.
So we had to get them into cages.
Fluffy went willingly enough, lured by morsels of tasty fish (from our lunch). She was a bit indignant about having the lid shut, but settled in all right.
Sable… oh, boy. She was not going to be deceived by tasty fish. She was not going to be put in a cage. She was not going to be touched by the hoomans. She hid under the sofa. We lifted it. She hid under the other sofa. She hid behind the television. She hid behind my computer monitor. She tried to climb up the window. In the end we were able to get her out of the sitting room into the hall, and she was eventually cornered and gave up the fight.
Phew. Fifteen minutes and a couple of scratches later, we hurried into the car and off to the vet!
The vet visit seems to have gone pretty well. They have a neat little system where the vet nurse who is officially doing the appointment sneaks the cats in to see the actual vet, who gives them a quick once-over, checks their teeth etc. Then they are weighed, and medications doled out. Both are fit and fine and have excellent teeth, which is no surprise as they must have got clean bills of health before they left the sanctuary, but it's nice to have a record at the vet's. Sable is 2.6kg, Princess is 2.8kg.
I was rather expecting Sable to flee to the most obscure shelf and stay there for the foreseeable future, but although she did get herself up high, she has actually been prowling about here in the sitting room, and even deigned to get within, oh, four feet of me. There was also some very pointed Ignoring going on!
Fluffy, meanwhile…

… spent quite a lot of the evening using my ankle or my calf as a pillow.

Meanwhile, a large lint roller has arrived. Will be deployed tomorrow, or we will soon be knee deep in cat fluff.
