pensnest: bright-eyed baby me (Default)

I drove 588 miles this weekend. I dunno if that seems a lot to those of you who live in BIG countries, but it seems like quite a lot to me!

Was good, though. There are worse things than driving an air-conditioned car full of friends on a nice sunny day. Bun, [livejournal.com profile] nopseud and I arrived chez [livejournal.com profile] turps33 (and her sweetheart James and her adorable Corey) at about teatime, [livejournal.com profile] ephemera_pop and [livejournal.com profile] msktrnanny were already there, so yay! I have another face to put to a name on my flist. We had giggles, and hugs, and footage (the BSB round-the-world tour is a real eye-opener), including The Cooler, and added Pirates (Saturday night, cinema, yes we did stay to applaud the end of the credits) and brief beach scene (seaside *so pretty* in the 8pm sunlight, if I'd had my camera I could have made icons that would have people saying 'How did you get that colouring?'), also the joy of Justin in The Observer, and [livejournal.com profile] nopseud's evil cackles of joy over the reactions on LJ. And, on the way home, listening to Justin's Radio 1 interview/session and - heh! - howls of delighted horror from the back seat when he confessed himself "frightened" by what he found when he Googled his own name... In between, quite a lot of nattering, with [livejournal.com profile] msktrnanny giving us her US perspective on stuff like The Superbowl Incident and how to tell that Merchandising was written by a Briton. We failed, alas, to read badfic in the middle of the night. :-(

I am sorry to relate, though, that we all wimped out of trying the transparent tequila lolly with a humungous WORM in it. My Bun is still traumatised from the sight of it. (Heh!)

Oh, it's nice to get together with you guys! Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] turps33 for luring us all northwards!

I should probably get back to normal life now. Hmm.
