How to drive yourself crazy... try this. It's a .gif which (apparently) can be seen rotating in either direction. I say apparently because I cannot see it anticlockwise however hard I try!

Are you right-brained, left-brained or both?

This is what I did, and I managed to see it anticlockwise after that. Try looking at it with one eye closed at a time, and concentrate on the foot and the shadow of the foot. I only managed to see it go anticlockwise after viewing it that way with my right eye.

Meep! By scrolling down so I could only see the foot for a while, I managed to get it to "switch" (in my case, from counter-clockwise to clockwise) ... and now I can't manage to see it the original way!

I can see it rotating both ways as well :)

Definitely spinning anti-clockwise. Can't make it go the other way no matter how hard I try.

Yup, I'm right-brained. I can't see it anti-clockwise at all, either!

Both ways, but not intentionally.

If I look away for a few seconds and then look back I can usually get her to change direction. Cool!

That's fascinating. I started seeing it clockwise, and I only managed to see the oposite when I didn't look right at it but out of the corner of my eye. And then I couldn't turn it back for a long time, except when I really concentrated. But it's getting better, and the moment when it switches is fun.

At first I could only see it go clockwise (right side) and I was all sad cause all the tests I've taken say I'm both. So I started reading the descriptions and all of a sudden it switched!

It has to do with the damn outstretched leg.

try scrolling down until you can just see the one lower leg and foot - I still can't get it to switch, but lots of folks say that helps. apparently it's to do with dominant *eye* not 'side of the brain' ...

yeah, me too. I think the thing is when you're looking and 'seeing' her going one way, your brain is anticipating that she will continue to go that way, so it's much harder to make her switch directions than if you look away for a moment and then look back.

Yeah, I felt myself trying to make her stop spinning for just a moment so that I could make her change rotation, but that didn't work of course but looking away and then back did.

That is so cool! I can make it switch by watching her legs from the corner of my eye. Next project: trying to see her rotate both ways at once. *urp*

AJGALKKLJLKSDFK I got her to swing her foot back and forth, side to side, without turning. My brain hurts now.

I'm right-brained, apparently because I can't see it counter-clockwise no matter how hard I focus!

Really interesting! I'm right-handed and at first I could only see anticlockwise and I'm a practical person/logic oriented. I just had to concentrate on the legs only and now I can see it both ways with some effort.

It IS! I would like to know who here is right-handed, reason-oriented or not and what they see, because this is totally working with my friends and worked with me!

Well, I default to clockwise most times, but not always. Very interesting to know how everybody sees, yes!
