Ahahaha, I love JC #5! Joey #1 is very pretty, and I like the way the little star matches Joey's hair in #2, and Joey #3 is so bright and happy, too!

The star in Joey #02 was impossible to resist! The only trouble with Joey (and Chris) icons is that such new pictures as we get nowadays aren't very varied. Justin is a much better bet as he does photoshoots.

I was just wondering where you got the light effects that you used in JC #10, Joey #1 and Justin #7 and #9. I'm just getting into making icons and would love to have something like those. Thanks!

An excellent question!

Well. The JC icon uses a texture that I made myself. I took a photo of some gravel on a path, and played around a *lot*.

Are you a member of severalplums? It's an icon challenge community I run, in which the winner each week (and, usually, an invited participant) will produce a tutorial to show how she/he made the icon. I did a texture challenge quite early on, and ended up winning it myself, so there's a tutorial on How Pen Makes Textures, which you might find interesting.

Anyway, I'd recommend joining at least one icon challenge, because I learned a lot through doing the lance_challenge and later on a couple more nsync-based challenges. It really helps to have just a few pics to focus on (severalplums only offers one picture per challenge). And you see what other people do with the same source material, which I think is interesting.

JF01, the texture came from lazypenguine. JT07, the light dots texture was from samelthecamel, and the flowery design was by cdg - who, incidentally, has made lots of lovely and really useful texture sets.
JT09 the light texture was from another set by samelthecamel.

I probably found most of the textures I have through icon_textures. There is also freshmakers, where only invited resource makers are invited to post. There's a lot of lovely stuff around!

I saved way more than half of these icons, and while I was putting comments on the file names (it's how I sort them out, because numbers get a bit confusing after a while and I tend to lose track), I thought of a few that you could possibly use as captions or something? (If you do use them let me know? XD I'd love to save some too.)

For Chris:
04 - huh?
05 - yeah whatever. (or 'one of those days')
07 - what's out there?

For Lance:
02 - enigma
03 - heaven or hell? (I was actually thinking it would make a good AU icon, hee.)
08 - schoolboy chic (or 'prep school chic' or 'boarding school chic' or something haha. Also good for an AU really. ^_~)
09 - building a mystery (I was idly looking at this one and it would actually make a good MiB or mafia AU icon, hee.)
