pensnest: bright-eyed baby me (Default)
Cursed birds. Bloody dawn chorus nonsense. There's something out there that has been listening to Himself playing World of Warcraft, cos the pesky avian whistles as though it is Summoning a pet. This is not the birdsong which makes poets set quill to paper.

Have been awake since 0530.

However, fortuitously left the radio on after this morning's omni, and how pleasant it was to listen to Patrick Stewart on 'Desert Island Discs'. I completed three (or four) rows of knitting - not as pathetic as it sounds as each row currently involves sleeve plus body plus sleeve, in double knit, with a change of yarn in each row. And Mr Stewart has admirable taste in music, he included Stephen Sondheim and Tom Lehrer. And, tee hee, a track which made me fall out of my chair laughing the first time I heard it, back when Brent Spiner was my Adored One and I was therefore mysteriously compelled to buy 'Ol' Yellow Eyes is Back'. Yes, PS chose "It's a Sin To Tell A Lie", though the programme (mercifully) did not get as far as his own growled speech in the middle...

I should listen to '1776' again. Brent can, in fact, sing rather well.
