Oh, a pox on't
Jun. 12th, 2005 04:19 pmI've just spent five and a bit hours at a craft fair with no customers. Grumble. The school in question turned out to be a magnificent old building in spacious grounds, we were in a panel-lined room with *huge* wooden tables (which was a nice change), and these things gave me hope. On the discouragement side, there were no signposts (none!) telling crafters--or customers--where to go. Turned out there weren't any posters advertising the event either. The only people who turned up were parents of the kids participating in the rather noisy display in the gym next-door: these were not parents interested in spending money, except perhaps on a cuppa and a slice of cake. No. I had two customers--one of the other stallholders, and a friend whose kid was in the gymnastics display, and who probably felt guilty about wandering past me without buying anything.
Spent the time learning my words and embroidering my T-shirt. But it's tiresome.
