It appears to be Dead Animals Day today.
On our strot today, Beast and I found a dead stoat - it looked so perfect and beautiful (and fierce) that it was hard to believe it was dead, but it was lying on its side in the grass between footpath and road.
And just now, I spotted my cat playing with a tiny, tiny mouse. When I got close enough to see the victim, it didn't appear to be capable of movement any longer. And when I went back inside, I discovered a corpse - a not-at-all-tiny mouse, complete with visible innards, lying in the conservatory. Monstrous cat.
It is still there, because I fled, cursing. I wonder if I can cajole my Boy into removing it?
In other news, a miracle occurred yesterday. Bun hoovered the house! She has invited a WoW friend to stay, and he's coming next week. She seems to have realised in good time that it will take several days to get this house fit for visitors... Hee.
