Bassez Day - a story

It's nice to find my ability to write is stirring again. I did produce a JuC smutlet (hey, rikes, see that?) here at fic_requests, *just* in time to fulfil my resolution for July.

Anyway, Bassez Day. I think I ought to introduce this story, as it's not, probably, the sweet fluffy fun you'd be anticipating reading for such an occasion.

I had 'rumpled, scent, indifferent' as mental prompts, although they don't necessarily appear in the story. It's actually something I've been meaning to write for some time, as a private response to reading a remark that felt like a challenge. It's also written backwards, something I never thought I'd do, but in this case, it's the right way to tell the story. Sorry about that!

I finished it this morning, so it hasn't been beta read. I'm really interested in knowing what you think of it and if it works—no matter whether you like it or not—so all comments will be very welcome.
