(no subject)

I made my first cake of 2017 yesterday. A spiced apple cake, because I'd somehow got the idea into my head that I wanted to bake a spiced apple cake, and it was therefore logical.... It turned out very tasty, although not quite cooked. I blame both the vagaries of my *extremely* vague kitchen scale and the impossibility of telling what temperature the oven is actually at. (At least, I suppose I could buy a thermometer, but I'm not going to.) Baking needs a bit more precision than this. However, it is a tasty spiced apple baked good, and we've nearly finished it.

I've never been all that excited by painted people—it seems to be a minor Thing in fanfic, and it's okay; until I checked Lance's Instagram I didn't really get it, but, uh....
