FIL now has his electric-powered chair and an indoor aerial for his giant telly, so he is suitably comfortable in his sitting room and we are contemplating furniture purchases. I've dyed the curtains from the (old) kitchen—which is now a pleasing pale beige/dark cream—to a nice denim-ish blue, providing him with a better shield from the light in the kitchen, where his computer now resides.
His tomatoes have been zapped with blight, which is a bit tragic. He picked a vast quantity of green tomatoes and is part-way through pickling them, though frankly I am deeply distrustful of this as (a) they smelled vile yesterday when newly boiled and (b) blight! We shall see.

It's not at all clear whether we shall have our paler kitchen before Camp or not. Maybe we can return from Yorkshire to a finished kitchen? *sighs*

I had a shower in our cavernous new shower! I swear, that cubicle is bigger than some bathrooms. The rather large shower head is splendid. But, disconcertingly, when one turns away from the wall there is a full-length view of one's naked body in the mirror above the sink. Hadn't anticipated that. But. Shower!

Off to the gym now.
