I woke up to the news this morning. Early.

The prime minister's chief adviser Dominic Cummings called for "misfits and weirdos" to apply for jobs in Downing Street.

Which brings us neatly to Andrew Sabisky. Who:

Thinks poor people shouldn't be allowed to reproduce.
Thinks black Americans have lower IQs than white ones.
Thinks, Eugenics, Yay! (in a nutshell)
Thinks women's sport is more comparable to the Paralympics than to men's sport.

This is one of the exciting young minds that's supposed to be revitalising things in No 10. Uh huh. It has apparently escaped him that racism, misogyny, ableism and contempt for the poor have been mainstream for hundreds of years. 'Misfits and weirdos' would appear to be code for 'chaps like us', not that anybody would have expected anything else. Boris doesn't seem to have noticed anything amiss, until shit blew up.

Here's a thought… if you want some fresh ideas, how about asking some female, non-white and disabled people. Oh, and poor ones, too. They are, after all, the people you actually think of as 'misfits and weirdos', amirite?

Slow burn OR love at first sight Heh. Ideally, one of each in the same story. Most of the time, 'love at first sight' actually means instantaneous sexual desire, which is entirely plausible but not very interesting, so if I have to choose, it'll be Slow burn.

Fake dating OR secret dating Really don't care about either. Have enjoyed stories of both kinds.

Enemies to lovers OR best friends to lovers Enemies to lovers can work, sure, but generally we're talking about two people with fundamental incompatibilities, and I just don't see it. And if it means Harry/Draco I… really don't care. Best friends to lovers has so much more joy! And so much more chance of being a real relationship!
