things are looking up
Mar. 6th, 2022 09:48 pmWell. My car seems to start (most of the time). My boiling tap is now restored to operation.

The ground source heat pump certainly makes it warm, but we* have not yet figured out how to make it make only as much warm as we want, when we want it. The Man From Stiebel will be here on Tuesday, and it is to be hoped that he will be able to get the brute under control.
Octopus sent us a gas bill for £14+, covering the three days after the gas was disconnected. Hmm.
Boy is moving out! We took a handful of boxes over to the new house yesterday, and Bun and her Chap also came over to have a look. This involved a lot of struggling with traffic, since there are roadworks completely blocking access to certain crucial parts of the city's road network. Plus there was a home game at Carrow Road. We heard joyful cheering at one point, but it turned out the home team lost, 1-3.
Anyway, the big moving day is tomorrow. Boy is finishing his packing today. We have hired a van so there will be a lot of furniture Tetris and general all-round inconvenience, but I suspect the house will still look rather empty when all his stuff has gone in to it. We are attempting to persuade him that he must acquire a cat. (There is one in the very near vicinity. It even has a cat ladder on the outside of the garden fence.)

Had a lovely day singing today, all-day rehearsal for the mixed chorus. We worked on details, and I think made considerable improvements, which was very satisfying.
