you were half, now you're whole
Aug. 28th, 2022 03:36 pmMy computer is Home! *pets it fondly* After a rather expensive repair, it does seem to be working okay, as far as I know, and with the proviso that Apple's Music program is just as crappy as iTunes was. Ah well.
I have spent much of the day finalising my pod_together recording, something that inevitably takes vastly longer to do than ever I anticipate, but I'm quite pleased with the result. Assuming all goes well here on in and I manage to actually get it onto AO3, I will of course advertise to the world when it is up and available for your listening pleasure.
Meanwhile, we had an electric charger added to our garage in anticipation of getting an electric car next year. The Prius has been tootling along happily enough for fifteen years, but the starter battery is just not working properly, so that we are keeping a suitcase-sized battery charger attached to it, wherever we go, and plugging the charger in to the mains when we get home. It's a bit tedious, and does not lead to great confidence in the car.
Still, we do leave the house nowadays. Yesterday, I even met up with two of my knitting pals for a nice cup of peaches and cream tea and a piece of cake. Haven't seen them in person since March, but we're still doing Zoom meetings every fortnight. But it is so much nicer to be able to see and stroke other people's yarn creations.
I have a feeling Beast is cropping blackberries for our, hmm, fifth blackberry crumble. Boy is coming round for lunch tomorrow, and will presumably be pleased to see a blackberry crumble. I know I will!
