just because it's June, June, June

June Something, Day 8. Tell me something about the last fandom thing you wrote. Or the last thing you read. Or the last thing you recced. Or all of them.
The last fandom thing I wrote was this, a White Collar post-canon fic which very much wanted to be written after I had discovered, watched and fallen in love with the show earlier this year. I'm usually late to fandoms, but this is late even for me! However, I'm very proud of the story.
I had hypothesized that post-Neal, Peter would have found more and younger miscreants to train into better ways. It didn't altogether work with Neal (or, maybe it did?), but I thought of him and El fostering a succession of youngsters who could benefit from some excellent parenting. For the fic, I obliterated the succession of foster kids and stuck with just one. Ended up being very fond of Toby, though I hope he gave his foster parents a hard time for a while!
This is the first story in a very long time that was not written for a challenge or at least a prompt, that was just written because I wanted to write it. (I actually enjoyed writing it, too, without that pressure. Though I correctly supposed that very few people would read it. See, very late to fandoms!)
The last thing in My Beloved Fandom that I produced was Sea colored eyes, a popslash short in which Chris fishes a mermaid. It was written for the FandomGiftBox challenge 2021, but the challenge itself seems to have disappeared rather late on—anyone know what happened? The inspiration came somewhat from a story I half-heard on Radio 4, and it was so nice to have a story that arrived out of nowhere and seemed to work happily!
I hope it won't be the last thing that I ever produce in My Beloved Fandom, as there are some projects yet to be completed.
