can there be too much stuff in my life?
Oct. 10th, 2008 06:01 pmHi. My name is Pen, and I'm a stationery addict.
We're having our boiler replaced at the moment (actually, it's now 6pm and the poor chap who has been chasing all over several towns today has had to give up, he hasn't been supplied with the last essential part, and we are thus to be heatless over the weekend, sigh); anyway, the electrician needed to turn of the power briefly this morning, so, deprived of computer, I went to make a start at tidying my collection of paper and card makings. I got about, hmm, half-way, but it was a fair effort.
I have about a thousand* envelopes. I have a mountain of fancy paper, from recycled wrapping paper to pretty stuff I couldn't resist from wherever. I have pots of paint, and pots of ink (woot! I'd forgotten those!), and too many varieties of sequin to fit into my miniature cabinet of 16 drawers. I have ribbons, lace, stamps, beads. Pretty scraps of material. Stickies. A selection of cutting tools from scalpels to scallop-edged scissors. Books on tape, for when I'm out there making cards. I have enough card base stock (either uncut or ready-to-use) to last me the rest of my life.
But I'll probably see a pretty paper bargain next week...
* Okay, I have about three hundred and fifty envelopes.
