Dance stuff

Mild amusement this morning derived from the music in the abs class, which included both I kissed a girl and Disturbia (sp?). And when I got back to the changing room, Backstreet sang I want it that way to me. Hee.


I was disappointed with Lance's samba. I'd really been looking forward to seeing him dance the samba, especially after last week's cha-cha, because at the beginning, with the hat and the attitude and the hips, and then later, with the hips, and the hips... If ever a dance calls for hip action, the samba does, and sadly, I was deprived of Lance hip action. Also the music was completely nonsensical, but I don't suppose that was Lance or Lacey's fault. But, Lacey, come on, girl, you let me down! I seriously expected to be wowed by that dance, and by Lance's solo bit, and, well...

Foxtrot was nice, though.

I spose it was mostly a relief, as I had a very disturbing dream about DWTS (sigh) in which both dances were really rotten. I think in my dream they did the first one in clown outfits? Very unnerving.

Oh, and Lance? About that blog. Bad idea. I deduce from the respectable grammar and the absence of exclamation marks that you did not actually write this, but you should have looked through it before it was published. You're a nice boy. Learn to proofread.

So. Is it a done deal that Brooke, Warren and Lance will go to the final? Or is someone going to have a nasty shock?

I agree with you about Lance's dance. The samba is a dance where the hips are supposed to be going non-stop and there wasn't much hip action at all. Let alone the musical choice just didn't work...ugh.

Agreed on all counts. And if Lisa wrote that blog, she should know better. I'm just hoping everyone on the show is too busy to read it.

I'm assuming Warren, Brooke and Lance will go to the finals, but it's certainly not guaranteed. Cody is pretty adorable and probably has a pretty big fan base.

The foxtrot was really cute, kinda cheeky and with lots of content - Lacey has really figured out that she can show Lance off. But, she hasn't really got brutal with him on technicalities, and the samba - oh, I really wanted to be dazzled by it, and it was not dazzling. *mopes*

The foxtrot made me smile! I liked the way he walked down the steps, exactly the right feel for the dance.

There was certainly great wrath on, um, either the TWOP or the ABC forum about the blog! I can imagine Lance on the phone or in a room chatting to the journalist (?) who was going to write the blog, and not expecting them to put in *everything* he said... but surely he ought to have the right to look at it before it goes up, and take stuff out? Gah!

Cody has got better, too, I thought he did rather well in the group number last week (and that the judges were quite mean not to point this out). I won't see the other dances until Friday, of course, so I don't know how he did this week.

Yea, I was really disappointed that there was no like no hip action in that samba. Especially after last year when Lance came to teach Joey how to move his hips for his samba.

It amuses me that there's been Backstreet in the gym... there was a *huge* guy in there yesterday, with arm muscles the size of my Body Jam instructor's waist, and baby!Backstreet seemed so incongruous!

Lance has a lovely slinky hip action (see last week!) and it was practically a crime not to see it in action in his samba. (Though I'm pretty sure it was the rumba where he and Alfonso came to 'help' Joey.)

Oh dear. Those quotes just didn't come across very well. I doubt he meant them in the way they sound - I bet he was just tired or something, and not watching what he was saying.

The samba was not what it could have been, that's for sure. I thought Lance's foxtrot was cute though. The judges make me want to pull my hair out. Idk what's going on with the scoring, but it's seriously messed up. >:(

If I were scripting it, this would be the week where Lance gets booted. Because he's said stuff - not terrible stuff, but inappropriate - about fellow competitors *and* admitted on camera that he really wants to win. So I fret.

I have to say, I don't think Lance's footwork was 'atrocious'. The judges seem to be all over the place this season. Very bizarre.

Well, if it was an interview, as opposed to just a blog entry, once you've said something to an interviewer, it's in their hands to be published or not. But Lance has been giving interviews for nearly half his life, so I've a feeling he knew that...OTOH, I didn't really take his comments as all that "offensive", or being of a sensitive nature or whatever people are worrying about...it's a competition, and those were competitive remarks. I don't doubt the other contestants might make similar remarks regarding each other and Lance as well...it's just part of how these things work. Fandom is looking at Reality TV askew through their prior experience; it's NOT the same thing as touring or giving gracious interviews to make the group's PR look good or whatever. I doubt those comments will have that much of an impact- -but who knows? We won't until we get there.

Indeed, what Lance said is in no way different from what the people on the ABC forum have themselves been saying, but oh, dear, they are not happy about it!

I really would love to see him get to the final. At that point it doesn't matter whether he wins or not. Though a hip-hop freestyle would disappoint me enormously.
