A very good Tuesday

Oh, I did enjoy yesterday, and it was mostly Lance Bass's doing. For several weeks now, I've had to leap to my computer on Tuesday mornings to download his performances, thanks again to the wonderful daisydust for keeping me supplied. And this week's just made me *smile* all the time.

His leetle nose! His leetle scrinkled-up *nose*! Aww.

Grandpa Bass is adorable.

Obviously Daddy Bass is not one to show physical affection, not so much of a full-on hug there. But what a cute segment!

LOVED the Mambo. Lots of dance content, lots of clever stuff (Lacey's back-bend! !!!), and their *glee* when they got a 10.

The Jitterbug was lots of fun (though for my money, the Mambo was a better dance), and he did so well with the cast shoe. And giggling afterwards. And Emmanuelle in the audience cheering her little heart out. Bruno being extra-gay with his recognition of a classic musical. And Lacey was *so* excited when they got two 10s. So cute.

I was quite worried about them last week, but after Monday's performance it would have been beyond belief had they not made it into the final. Yay Lance!


And yesterday evening was my first Setting rehearsal for Iolanthe, and it went very nicely. We got through the whole of the first number, only one cast member missing, and they coped remarkably well with it all. Most gratifying! Also, I think they enjoyed themselves. So my careful slaving over who do I have where and which beat are they to move on does pay off.

I literally clapped my hands and bounced in my seat every time they showed Grandpa Bass onscreen. SO fabulous!

Papa Bass always vaguely worries me. Maybe it's just that he's not a particularly demonstrative man, but I always worry that he's looking at his Big Gay Son in bafflement.

I just watched all of Lance's dances with my sister, and the mambo is still my favourite. YAY LANCE!!

I think my favourite bit of DWTS was Lance's grin after the Jitterbug, which was *exactly* the same big, goofy 'oops, I messed that up whre *everyone* could see, didn't I?' grin he's always had.

I suppose Papa Bass is just baffled by the whole thing, but at least he's there now, and seemed to enjoy the dancing. Grandpa Bass, though, was obviously thoroughly chuffed by the whole thing.

I love the mambo, but I think maybe their rumba is my favourite. When Bun comes home for Christmas I shall inflict them all on her.

Next March. We're doing the first weekend as a supper show (Friday and Saturday), with afternoon tea at the Sunday matinée, then the second weekend in traditional theatre format with tiered seating.
