Meanderings, and the promise of fic

Last night's run of 'Seussical' was enlivened when it occurred to me to imagine Lance Bass in the role of The Cat in the Hat. The kids have (finally!) got a good show, a little iffy here and there but basically very watchable. The performances start on Thursday, so I hope there'll be a decent-sized audience. And the music - now that we've mostly got past the fact that the usual pattern is:

[several interesting bars]-[keychange with crotchet or semiquaver in crashing chord]-[immediate chorus entry]

- is lovely. Delightful show. (I'm singing in the pit, as there isn't much chorus on stage and they can't deal with the harmonies.) I'd love to see it professionally done.

The end of this week should be a good time for popslashers. I know beckyo will be posting her rpf_big_bang story, featuring Backstreet, on Thursday; my popslash/AI8 crossover will be posted on Friday (I know there is another Backstreet story due, but I can't remember who's writing it or when it will be up), and at the beginning of next week the poptober challenge stories go live. Yay, fic!

I do seem to have lost the knack of writing ficlets, which causes me woe as it is definitely leaving fic_requests in the lurch. Is it that the requests are asking for more story than I can do in a few hundred words? Or have I just forgotten how? Anyone who'd like to fill in the next few days by writing a ficlet or two to answer one of the many prompts on the 'to be filled' list will have my great gratitude. I'm not being a very useful mod over there.

Why, thank you! I have a feeling a Seussical voice post would make No Sense At All. But I ought to get round to recording The Song of Chris Kirkpatrick.

Yes, it's quite... it's... yes. *JC mode off* Topless pugilistic Lance is quite a surprise. The photographer said something about a photoshoot, but didn't seem to have any other pics on display.

I wonder what *happens* to the pics from the photoshoots Lance has done.
