And again, the malice of inanimate objects picks its moment! My oven broke. Just in time for the Easter Day feast, which was destined to be roast pork with lots of yummy crackling, now both ovens trip the switch in the fuse box—the little one after about three minutes of heating, the big one won't turn on at all. Have acquired lump of beef for slow cooking (I hope this works) and various other foodstuffs which won't require ovening. We'll have to order pizza delivery after all for our semi-traditional watching of Dr Who tomorrow. Pork and pizza now in freezer.

I mean, I'd love to have a whole new kitchen, including a somewhat bigger range cooker, but not NOW and not as an emergency measure!

I know, I know, first world problems and it's not as though we can't deal with this, but still. Grar!

If you happen to know anyone who is good at mending electrical stuff and willing to take a gamble, now would be a really good time for them to obtain a 90cm range cooker for the price of collecting it...

The lump of beef went into the slow cooker overnight, and is looking good so far!
