Jun. 18th, 2012 11:18 pmNot a great day today.
I had a row with my Boy on MSN chat last night—I don't think there is any other human being who can exasperate me so much—and have been feeling bad about it all day.
I looked at the script of the next show I'm up for directing, found what I consider to be major problems, and after several rewrites today communicated my concerns by emailing some of the members of our management committee. One of whom leapt into action and another of whom promptly resigned. So I'm feeling pretty bad about that, too.
Period started today without any of the usual warnings. Grump. I shouldn't complain - it's actually quite good timing. But I cannot rejoice.
On the positive side, Socks has in the past few days been permitted to sit on Beast's lap and he has been stroking her. As he has spent the last sixteen years firmly warding her off, this is rather nice. I can't decide if the cat has extraordinary patience or merely the memory of a goldfish.
Beast also looked strong and manly as he mowed the lawn. There's just something about jeans tucked into wellies…
And for Father's Day I found the Hulk and Captain America films in the exchange shop. Somewhat to my surprise I found the former more satisfying than the latter—perhaps Chris Evans' glorious bottom was insufficiently on display. (Also, my Sidekick Kink kicked in most obviously once Cap was all muscled and tall—his Best Friend suddenly looked much cuter to me.)
